Looking after re-usable contact lenses

If you use re-usable contact lenses, it’s important to disinfect them after every wear.  This stops organisms from developing on the surface of the lenses and entering your eyes when you wear them next.  Your practitioner will recommend a disinfecting solution and storage case to keep your contact lenses in.  To disinfect your contact lenses, soak them in the solution inside your storage case.

Each time you use your storage case, rinse it out and open it so that it can dry.  Always use fresh solution, and never re-use or top up solution.  Clean your storage case using contact lens solution and a clean toothbrush every week.  Replace your storage case every month.
